Carved in the solid rock, the steps take you to the very top of the peak
On the top of the world
Standing up on one of the peaks and admiring the views
Climbing the peaks is a great fun and offers some stunning views of the area. These are a little bit surreal!
Make a wish
Hundreds, if not thousands, of visitors set their lanters to the sky, often making wishes.
While great fun, the downside is the countless remains of the lanterns stuck on the trees in the surrounding area.
Sky of Lanterns

Lanterns making their way up
Lanterns during the Pinxi festival.
Send a message
Most of the lanterns carry up messages and wishes.
Peak bagging (sort of...)
Climbing the peaks can be quite an adventure (of course you can just take the stairs on the other side...)
Best known for the Sky Lantern Festival, Pinxi is only a short train trip away. The old town and the fabulous peaks look the best on a misty day...
